Everyday is a new adventure as we navigate together through these unprecedented times. In order to keep you apprised of current COVID-19 information, we are posting weekly updates on the bannisterneighborhood.com website.
 
Effective Wednesday, April 15, 2020, “the public will be required to wear face coverings in grocery stores, pharmacies, retail establishments, and public transportation. The order is aimed at protecting shoppers, employees, drivers, and passengers from the spread of COVID-19. A face covering can be a homemade cloth mask, scarf, bandana, or other means of snugly covering the mouth and nose” (Charles County Government). Governor Hogan has implemented required use of face coverings under certain circumstances across the state beginning on Saturday, April 18, 2020. The full executive order can be found here: Governor Hogan Executive Order_April 15, 2020
 
Special Hours for Special Populations
Walmart
Special hours for those 60 and older: Tuesdays from 6 AM to 7 AM.
 
Target
Special hours for those over 65 years old, pregnant women and those defined by the CDC as vulnerable or at-risk.: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 AM to 9 AM.
 
BJ’s Wholesale Club
Special hours for members over the age of 60: 8 AM to 9 AM daily.
 
Sam’s Club
Early shopping hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 AM to 9 AM for seniors and those with disabilities or compromised immune systems. This includes the pharmacy and optical centers.

Safeway
From 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM every Tuesday and Thursday, set hours are available for senior citizens, and other at-risk members of our community such as pregnant women or those with compromised immune systems.
 
Giant
All Giant Food stores now offer shopping hours for seniors (60+) and immunocompromised customers: 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM daily.
 
ALDI
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, ALDI stores will open at 8:30 AM and reserve the first hour of business for vulnerable shoppers. This includes senior citizens, expectant mothers and those with underlying health concerns.
 
Walgreens
Walgreens is offering free shipping for seniors, expanded drive-thru services for seniors age 55 and over and a seniors-only hour in stores from 8 AM to 9 AM every Tuesday.
